The word "nigga" is a heavily debated subject among rappers, media, and sociologists alike. I could write a 10,000 word research paper about the racial implications of its usage, but that would be boring as fuck.
Instead, I just want to know if it is ever acceptable for white people to use the word "nigga."
Me personally, I get irritated when I see white people on the internet trying to establish credibly or rapport by saying "nigga" in all their posts. Mother fucker, you’re white.
Take jmoney365 for example. I am assuming jmoney is white because his avatar is a picture of pale white hands holding a Slaughterhouse album. On one of the recent Lil Wayne singles, jmoney365 wrote: "idk maybe its me but when a nigga raps i gotta feel how it sounds." Wow. You really need to stop the act bro.
I’m sure there are plenty more whiteys who use Defsounds to hide their identities and exploit the word “nigga.”
The anonymity of the internet lets meek little white boys live in some fantasy world where it’s okay to refer to black people, or people in general, as "niggas." It really isn’t okay or necessary to use the word if you’re white.
The lesson to be learned here is this: Don’t be the next Gethip.
A couple years ago there was a Defsounds user named Gethip who used the word "nigga" so profusely in his posts and raps that everyone assumed he was the hardest black mother fucker on the net. But one day another user named Reign exposed his ass, and gethip was actually the whitest, nerdiest trash to ever frequent Defsounds. Gethip was banished from Defsounds, and he has never been seen or heard from since.
The point is that it’s not cool for white people to refer to others as "niggas." It’s mostly an internet phenomenon, because I guarantee that these same white boys saying “nigga this” and “nigga that” would not utter the first syllable of the word in real life around black people (unless they’re your good friends, and even in that case it’s still pushing it).
So to all you white boys on Defsounds using the word “nigga” like it’s yours, you need to give it up and just be yourself.
Oh, by the way, I am white if you were wondering.

also, us black folk have not done anything to help this situation. today, we use the word “nigga” way too loosly. today, any motherfucka regardless of skin color or ethniciy can be referred to as “nigga” and i find it not only ridiculous but humorous all the same. we call white guys niggas, hell we even refer to asians as niggas and i wont front, i am guilty of throwing “nigga” around carelessly also.
the point im trying to make here is that i dont think white ppl should use the word “nigga” but at the same time us black folks us it so casually to the point where white dudes feel it is ok to use the word as well so we are to blame for this as well i think.

I don’t even think this blog is really about the word nigga or nigger and who can say it and who can’t. I Feel like its a attack on people that have the right and freedom to say whatever they would like. Big Freeze doesn’t approve of white people or “white” boys saying nigga period. But now we live in an era that everyone is more or less molded into one overall culture. I go to the University of Florida (go gators!) and I find it funny that Pakistani-an friends of mine are jamming to 50 Cent and Cassidy and Lil’ Wayne and throwing the N word all over the place. I asked a black friend of mine if that insults him that Pakistani-an friend of mine should be cursing and using the N word and what not. He said ‘if that’s how the song goes, how else is he going to sing it?" But then I asked him if they said “Hey nigga whats up!?”, he said "yeah that would offend him a bit. Why is that? Why is it that my middle country friend can sing and yell " I shoot you in the motherf*cking face nigga!" but when he goes up to my African friend and says “Wuz up nigga?” its a problem?
I think that the main problems lies in the context that the word ‘nigga is being used. Im hispanic. In my opinion, the best culture. Why? Cause we are right in between black and white. I get to hang around black people and hang and chill and join parties without even having a “why is that white boy doing here?” Same goes with white people. I go to rock concerts and frat parties and there not like “great another ghetto mofo”. I usually introduce myself with general introductions and greetings. But lets back track a bit. I was born in Honolulu, Hawaii but raised in Miami, FL. If anyone knows Miami, I grew up in Carol City. I went to Jackson and Northwestern High School. I grew up in a very “ghetto” neighborhood. Sometimes, your surroundings do influence the way you are. If you grew up as a Hillbilly, you’ll be saying “Hey yall!” I grew up in the ghetto and naturally I say whats up. But do I use the word nigga to my black friends? Rarely. I say ‘wuz up playa!’. Or “wuz up partna!” But in those few times that the word ‘nigga’ came out of my mouth were justifiable.
Whenever I got myself in a fight, when i get pissed, I curse and shout everything that I can think of. Including ‘nigga’. If a black person think he can disrespect me and talk shit cause he thinks im just another “white-boy-trying-to-be-black” then fuck that; “nigga what are you going to do about it”. I think that in those instance I found myself being as black as ever not because I think its cool, but because thats all I know. Thats all I grew up with.
But back to the whole ‘should white people use the word nigga’. In my honest opinion, I think that they should, if they dont mean it in a derogatory way. I mean this is a hip-hop website. The word ‘nigga is like in every other sentence. Though once again I do get tired of hearing and reading the word ’nigga’. Its like, come on guys, you cant think of anything else to say. Rappers like Pitbull, Fat Joe and Big Pun can use the word ‘nigga’ cause they are Hispanic. Should Eminem use the word ‘nigga’? Of course, though that will be up to him. Why should Eminem be allowed to use the word ‘nigga’? Cause he is hip-hop and if hip-hop uses the word ‘nigga’ to express themselves, then so should Eminem.
So there you have it. Dont get mad when a white person comes up to you and says “wuz up nigga!” in a colorful delightful way. But if a white person tells you “hey nigga, get over here”, then by all means do go to him but with a bat in your hands to break his face. All in all, it doesn’t matter because in the end, we are all human beings and if it was up to me, we should just call say ‘wuz up human!" That way this whole ’who can use the word nigga" dies away.
(In a totally unrelated topic, I am a big fan of Defsounds.com. Though I dont participate in the commens as much{this is actually my 2nd post} it doesn’t kill people here to type correctly. TrYiNg To ReAd ShIt lIkE tHiS iS Fu*KiNg AnNoYiNg! also people here that dont start their sentences with a capitol letter. i mean come on, all you gotta do is hold the shift key.

Then shouldn’t the black person that says it around a white person not say it outta respect for the white person? Wouldn’t that be FAIR and EQUAL? “Honkey” and “cracker” are also both derogatory terms like “nigger” is, but “nigga” is not. “Nigga” was derived from “nigger” to mean something good. Black people took a word that was supposed to make them feel like they didn’t belong and they were less than human and flipped the word and gave it a different definition to make them feel like they did belong. “Honkey” (which I believe is the opposite of “monkey”) and cracker do not follow that same thing. But there are other slang terms that do; i.e. dope, ill, sick, mad, dumb, retarded, stupid etc. Also why is it okay for a black person to call a white person “nigga”?
